This position is for a Continuous Test Engineer (CTE) whose primary responsibilities are to design and implement the automated tests for our continuous build, continuous integration (CI/CD) infrastructure. The CTE will be involved in all aspects of the CI/CD testing, from tooling, configuration, designing the tests, writing test procedures and scripts, and assist engineers with troubleshooting defects. The CTE will assist in the design, instantiation, maintenance and ongoing development of the CI/CD infrastructure from the perspective of software testing. A candidate for this position must be knowledgeable about general software testing methods, techniques, and tools as well as test automation in a CI/CD environment.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Instantiate, maintain, and scale the CI/CD pipeline to incorporate an automated testing framework to include test tooling and configuration.
  • Collaborate with the CI/CD lead and engineering to develop an automated test strategy.
  • Collaborate with engineers to identify, troubleshoot, and repair defects in source code as they emerge from the automated testing.
  • Work with the CI/CD lead and engineering to identify issues with, and opportunities to improve the automated testing framework tools, workflows, processes, and procedures.
  • Write and maintain documentation on the test framework, workflows, processes, and procedures.
  • On-board, train, and support developers in the test framework, workflows, processes, and procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 5+ years of CI/CD and test automation experience in a Linux development environment within an AWS ecosystem.
  • Extensive knowledge of, and experience with, various automated testing techniques and technologies in Java and C++ environments.
  • Experience testing and measuring systemic quality attributes such as performance, availability, reliability, user experience, and so forth.
  • Ability to read, write, and modify test scripts; able to instrument automated tests, collect, and interpret test data.
  • Experience with build dependency management systems in Java and C++ environments (e g. Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, make/cmake, Conan).
  • Ability to assist engineers in troubleshooting issues based on test results.
  • Experience with distributed repos (e g. Git) and configuration management.
  • Linux shell scripting experience (e g. Bash, Ruby, Perl, Python).
  • Understanding of DoD DevSecOps and the associated test requirements for certification to field (CTF) and authority to operate (ATO) a plus.
  • Details oriented and able to grasp complex concepts and problems and clearly communicate them (orally/written) at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high growth, changing environment.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
