We are seeking a Radio Access Network Engineer to provide engineering, technical, testing and spectrum management support to develop integration solutions for commercial cellular networks and devices which delivers CDMA, GSM, WCDMA, and LTE voice and data services. Ideal candidate is well-versed and experienced in designing, testing and fielding a wide variety of cellular equipment and network technologies.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Design, test, integrate, integrate, point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, cellular and multi-spectral networks
  • Conduct spectrum planning and prepare the supporting analysis to justify network operations
  • Configure/reconfigure network equipment to function on different technical baselines, supporting different testing scenarios and customer requirements
  • Provision devices to operate on the network, add devices to location registers, and maintain accurate lists
  • Determine backhaul requirements to operate from remote locations
  • Plan and coordinate hardware, software, and firmware upgrades while minimizing system outages
  • Establish and modify parameters to replicate different cellular networks
  • Monitor spectrum during testing/deployment

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ten years’ experience installing, operating, maintaining, or developing commercial cellular software and hardware from major OEMs such as Ericsson, Nokia, or Alcatel
  • Ten years’ experience testing and resolving configuration problems with user equipment provisioned on commercial cellular networks
  • Extensive knowledge of current and emerging commercial wireless protocols including CDMA, GSM, WCDMA, LTE across voice, data, and messaging across domestic and overseas bands

Qualifications: 

  • Extensive hands-on working knowledge of 3GPP 4G/5G RAN technologies
  • Detailed understanding of PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC and PDCP layers
  • Experience with validation, feature testing and performance analysis
  • Experience developing, executing and troubleshooting test scripts using wireless network test tools
  • Hands-on experience capturing logs for analysis and troubleshooting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and ability to work without supervision
  • Well organized with excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the various releases of 5G Radio

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
